Why are people so anit-pot?

now when i say why are people so anti-pot, i mean just regular folk, i don%26#039;t care about the government, i know they don%26#039;t like it and prolly never will. but i don%26#039;t know why regular fold are anti-pot when the government has done studies that show that marijuana doesn%26#039;t cause cancer and isn%26#039;t addictive.





also the side effects from marijuana aren%26#039;t much worse, if not the same, or tamer even, than alcohol.

Reply:I am against it and not alcohol. even though I will agree about your effects portion, because of the whole smell thing. If my neighbor is drinking beer at his house, I don%26#039;t know it. If he is smoking pot, not only do I know, but 5 houses down knows also. If they could find a way to take the smell out, I would be all for legalizing it.

Reply:Because even though it may not be AS addictive as ciggerettes, and they may not cause cancer (i dont beleive this for a second) They can be addictive, my sister smokes pot, and she throws a fit whenever she cant get a hold of it. THATS addiction. Your not as addicted to smoking it, as the feeling you get from it. Also, pot has different effects on different people, some people act normally when they smoke it, others become totally worthless. Also, breathing smoke into your lungs of any kind IS NOT HEALTHY. It can damage the alveoli in your lungs which DO NOT GROW BACK... EVER. This GREATLY reduces your capacity for oxygen, and can cause major health problems in the future. So there most certainly are problems with smoking pot.

Reply:It is all about preception. A lot of people think pot makes you lazy and is bad for you. The only way it makes you lazy is if you let it and are lazy yourself. Alcohal is way worse for you. It kills your liver and can kill you if you overdose. Tell me one person that has died from smoking marijuana. You prbably can%26#039;t cause as far as I know it has never hapened. You can drive on marijuana with visine in your eyes and no one would know. Well you might drive a little slower. But your not going to kill people by wrecking like alcohal. Oh and what doctor tells people to drink alcohal for medical reasons? Only old people to help thin the blood. But there is medical marijuana. If any thing should be illegal it%26#039;s cigaretts!!!

One not need to tune into MTV long before s/he sees an %26#039;Above The Influence%26#039; spot...they also appear frequently in magazines. They hammer home the message %26quot;weed Bad%26quot; without once bothering to explain why it is so, or in comparison to what. I suppose it%26#039;s really not too hard to figure out that our government is doing what governments around the world have been doing for millenia...tell lies often enough until folks begin to think that it%26#039;s the truth.
