Reply:First off, labeling people as either conservative and therefore anti-earth or people as liberal and therefore pro-enviromental is very simplistic and hardly gives such a complex issue its due credit and just because someone is liberal or conservative does not mean that they are necessarily in one camp on environmental issues.





The main reason to protect the environment isn't for baby seals or trees...it's because of people. Countless civilizations have collapsed because they don't manage their resources in a constructive way and cope with the damages that all people bring upon their environments (and some people live in more fragile areas).





Try reading a book. Perhaps Jared Diamond's latest for some perspective.





And you'll probably get cancer too so you really shouldn't wish it on anyone.
