Reply:OMG! get over it. all those things were inevitable. you think people from colonial times would be going around saying? %26quot;oh i wish ye still had ye olde candle to light ye homes, not these blasted lightbulbs%26quot; no. stop complaining. there have been lots of technological advances in the past few years that have turned out good. stop focusing on everything bad. you cant change anything. this is the way it is and it will not go back. if we never advance, life would become less fruitful. no progress. GET OVER IT!!!
Reply:didnt have to worry about your kids getting lead poisoning form toys

didnt have to worry about school shootings
Reply:Well, they spent less time to whining and complaining, so guess they didn%26#039;t realize they they had less to whine and complain about.
Reply:You didn%26#039;t have to be so politically correct back then.
Reply:You%26#039;re absolutely right! I don%26#039;t envy the youth of today.

Could leave doors unlocked.

Kids (10 and up) could stay home alone.

The holidays weren%26#039;t commercialized.

We knew our neighbors and were like family.

I could go on and on. . . Good Luck!
Reply:didn%26#039;t know what a %26#039;dead-bolt%26#039; was

didn%26#039;t have drug testing in the workplace

could say ***** or colored without being slammed or called a hater

could leave our children home alone

teachers could shut the door or blinds without being accused

they could even give the child a ride home after detention

neighbors could whoop the butts of other neighbors%26#039; children for saying %26quot;hell%26quot; and the parent%26#039;s would be on the neighbors%26#039; side
Reply:You%26#039;re being very narrow minded. Maybe you should try and list things that are easier as well.

- Did not have to worry about sexual transmitted diseases such as HIV

~ There are new diseases but we%26#039;ve also cured some. Also, we may have just discovered a disease, doesn%26#039;t mean it%26#039;s new.

- No GST

~ True, but people with low incomes get money back. Also, they are phasing it out.

- Global warming or pollution YOU caused

~ I agree, but this isn%26#039;t proven yet. It may be a cycle the planet goes through.

- Less Traffic

~ agreed.

- Predictable weather

~ We have the techology to predict weather much better now. I believe you mean the weather is more sporadic? This also depends where you live.

- No Anti-Christ governments

~ governments have always been corrupt.

- Lower prices, at better income

~ Ever heard of inflation? Gas is actually cheaper today than it was 25 years ago compared to the average income.

- Could fight without being sued

~ huh?

- No cholesterol, or cancer causing items

~ Agreed. There are more carcingens however cholesterol has always existed.

- Livestock diseases

~ true

- A Handshake use to cut a deal

~ ridiculous

- Fixable Cars

~ Cars may not be as easy to fix, but they are more fuel efficient, safer and have many techonogical features. Cars are obviously better now. They%26#039;re not simple anymore, hence the reason you can%26#039;t easily fix them

- Tapes that did not SKIP after playing them 3 times or more

~ My god, vinyl has out lasted tapes. Magnetic tape loses quality everytime you play it. Magnetic tape has to be the poorest media form. Digital music never loses quality.

- Easier schooling (didn’t need a grade 12)

~ i would say school is getting more difficult as there is more information. Example: computers

- Didn’t have to buy water if you wanted to drink something “clean”

~ true. But half of bottled water is tape water. Buy a reverse osmosis system if you want clean water.

- No fish limits (no licensee)

~ true. But are you a fisherman by trade?

- No impaired charges

~ gimme a break. This is a needed law

- Could slap your kids, no body cared

~ Yeah, physcial abuse is really civil

- Dollar was not hurting business’s

~ too general of a statement

- Could mix a case of pop (pop shop)

~ LOL, wow, random. You can still get pop shoppe pop.

- Children’s toys where not over 100.00

~ Inflation man! Look it up. Minimum wage has also gone up too, notice that?

- Violence, death, shootings, not even close

~ true. But you could always move to a small town.

- Scam artists (Air miles, etc.)

True. Air miles is free by the way... you need a better example.

- Better electronics! (I bet you still have an older electronic that STILL Works

~ By far the most stupid thing you said on the list.

- RRSP’s, GIC’s..and all that ****?..neva

~ huh? What are you even saying?
