What could cause an increase in body temperature?

334>I%26#039;ve just finished a course of anti biotics prescribed to try and solve a rise in body temperature to between 37.3 and 38.3 that occurs regularly along with occasional shivers, heavy sweating and chills particularly in the mornings. This is in addition to an ongoing widespread pelvic pain problem which may be endometriosis. I was told that infection with endo is not uncommon but the anti biotics have not made any difference to body temperature or to pain. An ultrasound showed a %26#039;probable haemorrhagic cyst%26#039; size 21mm and the right ovary measures 36 x 19 x 38mm and the pain in that area is severe. It had been more widespread but the pain killers that I have been taking for two weeks have eliminated thge subsiduary pains and only the right ovary is causing concern. The doctor and the gynaechologist have both said it is uinlikely to be cancer and are sending me for a laporoscopy and I have another hospital appointment next week. Rise in body temperature is main concern.
Reply:I would think it is all connected, the cyst and the possibility of endo. If you don%26#039;t mind, I would suggest talking to your dr. about the laporoscopy. More than likely they will be looking to see if anything is going on, including looking for endo and I would think that they would remove the cyst. But I would ask what will be done if any endo is found, how will it be removed, and ask if they will be taking biopsies and sending them to the lab for confirmation. If endo is found you would want them to remove all of it by means of excision-which means to cut it out. They should take samples and send them to the lab so you have it confirmed. Some dr.%26#039;s will not remove the endo-they will do a diagnostic lap, some will remove what they can by burning it off, some won%26#039;t be skilled enough to remove endo that is surrounding vital organs so they will leave it there. All of those options would most likely result in your pain not going away or your pain coming back. I think it%26#039;s pretty common for women to get cysts, especially those with endo. I wouldn%26#039;t worry too much about it being cancerous but it could be a chocolate cyst or endometrioma. They are the same thing, just different names. It%26#039;s basically a cyst that, unlike normal cysts that are filled with fluid, they are filled with old blood, this type of cyst is associated with endo and should be removed because if it ruptures all of the blood that pools out will inflame and irritate the surrounding area causing you quite a bit of pain. Sorry I didn%26#039;t have an anwser for your question directly but I hope I was able to give you some good info concerning your situation in general. Good luck.
Reply:Your welcome-glad to hear your responding to the meds. Report It

Reply:infection, heat, stress, fatigue, shock, exercise, etc. make an appointment with your doctor.
Reply:All of the above really!
Reply:Me thinks you worry overmuch.

Your question is so technical that you have obviously researched the question in depth.

Try leaving the medical books alone. Just take an aspirin when the pain is there.
Reply:it could be anything, maybe food poisoning, get it looked At asap, it can cause dizziness and you leading to pass out - you don%26#039;t want that while your driving - get it looked at asap - good luck humanoid
Reply:Your temp rises as a result of fighting infection, so its a natural response to the cyst thing. Ask you doctor to do a blood test and check your white cell count if you are worried about cancer, any abnormality should show, but I imagine he has already done bloods anyway.

The laparoscopy with be via keyhole surgery i expect, and they may take a piece of the cyst to test if they feel it necessary, and do a biopsy to see closely what it is.

While you are ill, your temp is gioong to be up so dont worry too much, just wait and see what the results of the laporoscopy tell you.

Good luck!
Reply:If you%26#039;re still concerned why don%26#039;t you go back to your GP and discuss this. If you feel that the antibiotics have not worked for the high temperature, then maybe he can prescribe a more intense course, rather than a broad spectrum antibiotic. I really don%26#039;t think you have too much to worry about, fighting an infection can cause high temps. Good luck with everything x
Reply:Continue being careful ...

This ia another of the sites I learned about John Lee and natural progesterone

http://www.keepsmilin.com/transcriptdrle...

Some of your symptoms are on the this list by Miriam Brazel from 1997 revised in 2002

http://www.ylcf.org/hormone-imbalance/06...

Read the whole of her story you may find similarities

Stress --%26gt; Hormone imbalance --%26gt; %26quot;health issues%26quot;

and one of the health issues on Miriam Brazel%26#039;s list is shakiness (shivers?)

As a preliminary do the on line hormone tests at www.hormoneprofile.com or www.johnleemd.com

On www.hormoneprofile.com there are pages that explain the functions of the hormones.

If as I suspect they recommend you obtain hormones please have a saliva test done see www.npis.info or www.salivatest.com.

A saliva test will check out active hormones something that blood tests do not. Please research this before seeing the doc/gyn again.

If a hormone is suggested by the saliva test please take the dose suggested for you. Size 10 shoes are not twice as good if you have size 5 feet.

http://www.abc2health.com/prog-saliva-no...

The WHO (World Health Organisation) uses saliva tests.

Search the web for %26quot;natural progesterone endometriosis%26quot; and you will find many pages read and carefully select.

See www.hormoneprofile.com for how hormones work the books are better but it is a good place to start

There is a list of doctors at www.npis.info who are aware of the benefits of natural progesterone they may be more helpful than your GP. You are about to educate your GP :-)

Natural progesterone means natural to humans i.e. identical to that produced by the human body.

Any progesterone you buy must be natural progesterone USP. USP means United States Pharmacopoeia. Wild yam is that wild Yam the body will not convert it to progesterone

See www.npis.info for more information regarding obtaining progesterone in the UK

Do not take fake progesterone/progestins (or estrogens) manufactured by the drug companies they will be of NO benefit.

Hope this helps
