344>Okay, so i had a lot of the symptoms for a yeast infection, they%26#039;ve pretty much gone away. I didn%26#039;t do much about it(when i had the symptoms), i mean i used anti-odor wipes and anti-itch cream, but i didn%26#039;t take anything like over the counter wise,my mom bought some for me, but I didn%26#039;t use it because it was this huge pill/egg shaped thing that you stick up your...eh...hole and i wont even use a tampon! So...is there any sickness or cancer i should be worrying about? Thanks, and uh please dont make fun of me...:)
Reply:If you are sure that you had a yeast infection, and it %26quot;went away%26quot;, you can definitely expect it to return...if you don%26#039;t treat a yeast infection properly, it can %26quot;go away%26quot; but never really be cured...when the symptoms come back, you should definitely go to your doctor and YES there is a pill you can take instead of OTC solutions...it%26#039;s called Diflucan. Look it up on google or just ask your doc/pharm about it. Also, you can always use Monistat which is very effective. But whatever you do, when the symptoms come back, def go to your doctor and ask about Diflucan. Also, eat yogurt daily as a snack as it can help prevent yeast infections and actually help to speed up the curing process. Another big thing is, if you think you still %26quot;have it%26quot; but the symptoms are dormant...do not have unprotected sex with your partner (if you have one) because guys can be a %26quot;host%26quot; for the infection and just keep spreading it back to you once you even treat it!!! Be careful and good luck!
Reply:u should really consider seeing a doctor any infection in that area left untreated can lead to cancer down there %26amp; a yeast infection is nothing to be embarassed about many if not all women have had at least one!
u should take the meds ur mom bought for u if ur afraid of pain there is next to none but it msy be a little messy when the meds begin to dissolve
Reply:No I don%26#039;t think so. But I think sometimes people who get yeast infection get them again.
If yougot through this one with no medication that%26#039;s great. Hopefully it won%26#039;t happen again, maybe your body built an immunity to it on it%26#039;s own.
Reply:The problem is, that since you covered the symptoms of the yeast infections, you didn%26#039;t cure the yeast infection. You may experience a re-occurance, and even more severe symptoms. You don%26#039;t have to be nervous about inserting the medicine, follow the directions...it will be worth it, considering the discomfort of yeast infections. Other than that, I don%26#039;t know of anything else that you should worry about.
Reply:Yeast infections can be painful and very irritating. You should say something to your doctor next time you visit. In the meantime you should avoid things like sitting in the bath tub avoid scented products like douches, bath soaps, and scented pads or tampons, these can all aid in yeast infections.
I wouldn%26#039;t worry too much about cancer but you really should talk to your doctor. Its possible it could be something else like atopic dermatitis. I dont know how old you are but if you are sexually active, remember that yeast infections and sexually transmitted diseases have very similar signs and symptoms.
