I have SOB for 5 years and no doctors can find out what is the problem?

499>I have seen many doctors these last past 5 yrs but still have no answer to my problem. All started one morning after my shower, since then I can still not breath. I had X-rays, PFT, scan, genetic antitrypsin test, also EKG, echo cardiogram at rest and exercise...from the X rays my lungs are a bit big but according to the different pulmonary doctors (amoung which one is specialized in emphysema and lung cancer) I don%26#039;t have emphysema, my PFT is excellent and shows that I use 120% of my lungs. I don%26#039;t have athma neither pulmonary hypertention. I also went to Mayo clinic and they also didn%26#039;t have any answers. I am very desperate and would do anything to breath again, I feel now so limited with my life, however my breathing improves greatly when I lay down. I also have been on anti-acid medication and claratin D for a couple of month with no improvement, also took cortisone. I hope someone there can help me, I don%26#039;t have med inssurance and can%26#039;t afford to pay doctors anymore. Thanks a lot
Reply:Could be indigestion!! like you mentioned. Shortness of breath can also occur as a panic attack!!!! are you having panic attacks? Mabe you are and do not realize it. Your panicing over having a panic attack. Right, you feel it coming on and that makes you more panicy. I would look into being treated for indigestion or panic attacks!
Reply:What exactly is SOB? Add it to your details so I can offer what I think.
Reply:Where do you live? Near a busy street? Downwind from an %26quot;asbestos%26quot; (vermiculite) mine? Is your house full of dust? Is there anything in your past that might cause these symptoms to be psychological in origin? Are you overweight? Are you a chimera? There are a million questions I could ask you, but you need to become your own expert (it appears). What was in that shower water anyway - chlorine gas? Are you still using the same shower every morning? Is there mold in your house?
Reply:get more exercise and avoid junk food .if you don%26#039;t have asma your lungs are fine it must be a muscular problem . instead of running to the doctor for help get a good workout and you will feel a differance . if you don%26#039;t workout those muscles that make you breat get weak and make it hard to breath
Reply:Have you ever been treated with corticosteroids for this or any other condition prior to this one?
