387>i%26#039;ve had this problem 2 weeks already and it seems to be getting worse. i can%26#039;t lie flat on my back or on both sides because my legs tend to get weak and numb, and i can only sleep sitting down on the sofa + i feel a very strong burning sensation on the left side of my lower abdomen.
I visited the hospital and they told me i have a muscle spasm, they injected me 2 times on my butt cheeks with some sort of relaxant, it didn%26#039;t improve anything. and the doctor prescribed 4 different muscle anti-inflammatories + percocet to ease the pain. 4 days have passed and it seems to be getting worse.
So i ask myself, ok maybe this IS a pinched nerve or something, but why can%26#039;t i lie flat on my back or on sides, and what%26#039;s up with that REALLY BAD BURNING sensation on my lower left abdomen. I%26#039;ve done my research, Bowel problems? Colon cancer?
and did i mention i have leukemia? i am in total remission however. please help.
Reply:Get to someone who can help you. Can you call your leukemia dr? Can you insist on a specialist at the hospital? Can you choose a hospital that specializes in cancer? Somebody is going to have to get nasty with a few underlings before a dr. who knows something actually does something. I%26#039;d go with you to the hospital tonight and rattle some cages to get you help, but I doubt you live nearby. It might be good to find a friend or relative who doesn%26#039;t care how ugly a reputation they get in order to get you help.
It%26#039;s like my husband. He eats car salespeople for lunch, but he always gets all the attention he deserves.
Do you IM? There%26#039;s a nurse who answers questions in here, her name is tammy but her screen name is tammer. Her IM is tammer1973. I don%26#039;t know if that helps at all. I%26#039;ve been e-mailing her through yahoo, or I%26#039;d give you her e-mail. She%26#039;s been through it all--she%26#039;s a hospice nurse supervisor. She%26#039;s been very helpful to me.
Keep me posted, if you can.
Reply:Call your oncologist and talk to the nurse. They will help you. Also, find a good Pain Clinic or Pain Consultant Inc. You got shot in the wrong place, it seems anyway. Do not let this go and call your specialist today.
